Who is the data controller?
Ben Weston, Labour County Councillor for Hethersett, is the data controller for personal data submitted through this website. You can contact me at ben.weston@norfolk.gov.uk.
What data I collect
When you use the contact form I collect your name, email address, the subject and the message you send. I do not collect any other personal data through this website.
Why I use it and the lawful basis
I use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and, where appropriate, to take up casework on your behalf. The lawful basis under UK GDPR is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), given when you tick the consent box and submit the form. Where casework involves special category data (for example health information), the basis is Article 9(2)(a) explicit consent.
Who I share it with
Your message is delivered to my Norfolk County Council and personal constituency mailboxes. Where needed to resolve a casework issue, I may share relevant details with Norfolk County Council officers, South Norfolk Council, the police or other public bodies — only with your knowledge. The site is hosted by Lovable and Supabase (EU region) as data processors.
How long I keep it
Casework correspondence is kept for up to 2 years after the matter is closed, then deleted. General enquiries are deleted within 12 months. You can ask me to delete your data sooner.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase or restrict processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). To exercise any of these rights, email ben.weston@norfolk.gov.uk.
Cookies
This website uses only strictly necessary cookies required for the site to function. No tracking or advertising cookies are set without your consent.
