Pressing Anglian Water to repair Hethersett’s leaks

Residents were being asked to conserve water during a drought and hosepipe ban while burst pipes in Hethersett and Little Melton had been running for weeks.

Residents were being asked to conserve water during a drought and hosepipe ban while burst pipes in Hethersett and Little Melton had been running for weeks.

I raised the leak on Firs Road, where clean water was bubbling through the pavement, alongside ongoing leaks on Child’s Road and Cedar Road. Like many residents, I reported them to Anglian Water.

At the time of my 20 August update, I had been advised that a team would attend Firs Road the following Monday morning, and I said I would meet them there.

If residents are being asked to conserve every drop, it is reasonable to expect the water company to do the same.

This article records the position reported on 20 August 2026; the planned attendance described above was not confirmation that repairs had been completed.
