I will keep judging council decisions on their evidence
I have responded to a Restore Britain graphic naming me and other councillors as “traitors” because we did not support Reform’s motion on Barnham Camp.

I have responded to a Restore Britain graphic naming me and other councillors as “traitors” because we did not support Reform’s motion on Barnham Camp.
My abstention does not mean I support the position attributed to me in that graphic. Disagreement about a council motion should be debated on its wording, evidence and consequences, without misrepresenting other people’s views.
I will continue to judge each motion on that basis. I will not be bullied into supporting a proposal simply because someone threatens to label disagreement as betrayal.
Our communities deserve politics that brings people together, treats residents with dignity and focuses on improving their lives. I will keep standing up for that approach.
