🎬 FIRST MONTH REPORT: Straight to work for our communities

One month ago, you trusted me to represent the Hethersett Division at County Hall. I promised I’d hit the ground running, and I haven't wasted a single day.

One month ago, you trusted me to represent the Hethersett Division at County Hall. I promised I’d hit the ground running, and I haven't wasted a single day.

From challenging cuts to vital services at County Hall to rolling up my sleeves right here in our division, here is a full update on exactly what we’ve achieved together in our first four weeks in office.

The Highlights:

🏛️ Standing Up for Vital Services: Introduced a motion at my very first AGM to protect adult social care, SEND, and frontline services from budget cuts, forcing a public vote. I also strongly opposed the sale of 20 Norfolk care homes.

🛑 Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour: Gathered crucial evidence from residents to help Norfolk Police secure a Section 59 warning, putting a stop to weeks of nuisance motorbike riding around Ketts Meadow and Heather Gardens.

🏗️ Holding Developers to Account: Challenged out-of-hours machinery use, pressed for strict HGV restrictions at Bracon Ash, and tackling traffic-calming and blind bends on Natterer’s Way with District Councillor John Morland.

🌳 Clean & Green: Secured the clearance of multiple fly-tipping sites, supported HEAT’s Miyawaki Forest initiative, and handled vital resident casework — including partnering with our MP Ben Goldsborough's office.

🎈 Out and About: It has been brilliant meeting so many of you at our local summer fayres, community social events and even a local Viking Day! (And yes, if you want your chance to throw things at me, Hethersett Woodside are putting me in the stocks at their summer fayre on the 4th of July! 🎯)

This is what Local Labour does. We get on with the job.

There is still a massive amount of work to do but my commitment remains exactly the same: to be visible, to listen, and to work hard for every single part of our division.

Thank you for your incredible support. More to do 💪🏼
