Community meeting in Bawburgh about Anti-Social Behaviour and Parking
I joined residents, our local Labour MP, Bawburgh Parish Council and PC James Smith in Bawburgh this week to hear directly about the anti-social behaviour and parking problems affecting the village.
These concerns are not exaggerated. I have seen some of the behaviour first hand, including dangerous parking, littering and activity that leaves residents feeling intimidated in their own community.
Bawburgh is rightly popular, particularly around the village green and river, but visitors must treat the area and the people who live there with respect.
The meeting was useful because it gave residents the opportunity to explain what they are experiencing and allowed us to discuss practical responses with the parish council and police.
From a county council perspective, I will be following up the highways and parking issues raised, while continuing to work with local partners on the wider concerns.
Residents should not have to accept these problems as an inevitable part of summer.
